how it begins...
wow, the first day of sociology...... what can I say. it was a lot different than expected that is for sure. it started like any other class. looking to see who is in the room and who you will be with for the rest of the summester, but once class started we all assumed the same thing. that the teacher would describe the class and tell us a little bit about themselves. this was not the case however. insted Mr. Smith just sat there and watched us while sipping on water. needless to say we as a class didnt really no what to do. finaly after 10 min. he described how he was attempting to break the norm. of the first day of classes. Mr.Smith sure did i now look forwered to sociology every day even though it has only been 2 days.

Haynes,
ReplyDeleteI agree with ya, this class started like any normal class. We walked in, searched the room for people we knew and then waited for him to talk to us an explain the class. after awkwardly watching him drink water and hearing the nervous laughs and jokes from other classmates. Nice blog :-)Im super excited for this class and to learn cool things about sociology
=]
totally.....i acted the same way as i would usually do, look for who is in my class, "study" the teacher and try to figure out who the teacher was and what he is all about. I am looking forward to getting to know you and exploring the class together.
ReplyDeleteThats nice Haynes, thats nice.
ReplyDeleteWhen someone "studies" the teacher what are they looking for? Do they get "it" right? Do first impressions tell us more about the person you meet, yourself, or maybe more about the society you live in!?!? What defines a normal start to class? I suspect different schools have different first day rituals around the state, country, world.
ReplyDeletewhen some one studies a teacher they are doing it how they would study any one they try to get a feel for personality and character. they are altomitly seeing if they will be able to get a long or like a person. and no first impressions are not always right most of the time they are completely wrong. people are usualy not themselves when they meet new people. and the first day of class will very deppending on where you are or who you are. most people tend to conform to the rituals of the society they are in so they dont stand out or get ridiculed. so if a teacher that workes at our school chose to go work in another part of the country then im sure they would start school like they are used to where ever they are and not like we do here.
